Home Is Where the Heart Beats // NOSTALGIA

Home Is Where the Heart Beats is an installation that invites to collectively create a safe
space where we can meet through our memories and make room for the emotions they
carry. Visitors are invited to read letters with migrant stories, write and leave their own,
and take with them those that resonate with their personal journey. Words weave our
stories together, showing that our experiences matter, have a place, and can move others.

NOSTALGIA is a site-specific performance, developed to take place specifically within this
installation. It draws on an intimate and sensitive imagery to create a dreamlike
atmosphere. Through this language, the artist traces the journey of a monster (herself?)
through its memories, inviting the audience to surrender to the vulnerability of being
present and to recognize the memories each of us carries within.

Camila Ivana is a Colombian multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores how emotions
can be evoked through the senses using non-verbal languages such as movement, lights
and shadows, and sounds. Her work explores the ways art can build community and create
safe spaces. Centered on the body and the spaces it inhabits, her research is rooted in
themes of migration, home, memory, and intimacy. She lives in Berlin since 2021.
