Jarmila Lee-Lou’s “Seide&Stahl” widmet sich den disziplinären und geschlechtsspezifischen Widersprüchen von Luftartistik und Kraftsport als eine Art künstlerischer Forschungsprozess. Inspiriert von feministischer Kritik an Körpernormen sowie der Selbst- und Fremdausbeuteung von FLINTA-Körpern zeigt die Zirkuskünstlerin explorativ und interventionistisch gesellschaftliche und künstlerische Paradoxe des starken weiblichenKörpers und dessen ästhetische Abwesenheit auf. Mit Humor und zugleich ausdrucksstarker Darbietung konfrontiert sie ihr Publikum und navigiert durch Momentaufnahmen eines weiblich* gelesenen Körpers.

Jarmila Lee-Lou (sie/ihr) ist Zirkusartistin, Tanzpädagogin und Kuratorin. Ihre vielfältigen Tätigkeiten vereint das Interesse eine zeitgemäße und weibliche* Zirkuspraxis zu schaffen, die Inhalte, Ästhetik und Arbeitsbedingungen neu definiert. Sie ist Mitbegründerin des Kunstkartell e. V. sowie der Initiative Feministischer Zirkus.

Jarmila Lee-Lou's “Seide&Stahl” is dedicated to the disciplinary and gender-specific contradictions of aerial artistry and weight training as a kind of artistic research process. Inspired by feminist criticism of body norms and the self-exploitation and exploitation of FLINTA bodies, the circus artist explores the social and artistic paradoxes of the strong female body and its aesthetic absence in an explorative and interventionist way. With humor and at the same time expressive performance, she confronts her audience and navigates through snapshots of a female* read body.

Jarmila Lee-Lou (she/her) is a circus performer, dance teacher and curator. Her diverse activities are united by an interest in creating a contemporary and feminine* circus practice that redefines content, aesthetics and working conditions. She is a co-founder of Kunstkartell e. V. and the Initiative Feministischer Zirkus.
