Monolog Box ist ein Begegnungsraum für eine einzige Person: ein geschlossener Raum, in dem Zuschauerin und Erzählerin eins zu eins, allein miteinander sind. Du gehst hinein, wann du willst, und wieder hinaus, wann du willst; wann und wie lange du Zeug:in wirst, entscheidest du selbst. Die Box besteht aus zwei Teilen. Wer den Teil Coming In betritt, hört einen Monolog, den der/die Performer:in eins zu eins vorträgt. Wer den Teil Coming Out betritt, ist nicht der/die Zuhörende, sondern der/: Hier kann man seine eigene Geschichte, seine Erfahrung, alles, was man erzählen möchte, anonym und laut zurücklassen. Niemand sieht dein Gesicht, niemand fragt nach deinem Namen.

Die beiden Teile nähren sich gegenseitig. Die Geschichten, die im Coming Out-Raum anonym hinterlassen werden, werden auf der Coming In-Seite vomvon der Performerin erneut erzählt und auf die Bühne getragen. So wird das, was eine Person erzählt hat, zum Monolog, den eine andere hört. Die Fragen im Zentrum dieses Festivals — der Unterschied zwischen Sichtbarmachen und Beistehen, der Raum, den das Benennen zugleich öffnet und schließt — kommen hier auf einer persönlichen und konkreten Ebene an: Wem gehört eine Geschichte, wenn sie sich von ihrem Ursprung löst?

Monolog Box is a one-on-one encounter space: a closed room in which spectator and narrator are alone with each other, one to one. You enter whenever you want and leave whenever you want; you decide for yourself when and for how long you bear witness. The Box consists of two parts. Those who enter the Coming In part listen to a monologue performed one-on-one by the actor. Those who enter the Coming Out part become not the listener but the teller: here you can leave behind, aloud and anonymously, your own story, your experience, anything you wish to tell. No one sees your face, no one asks your name.

The two parts feed each other. The stories left anonymously in the Coming Out room are retold by the actor on the Coming In side and carried onto the stage. In this way, what one person has told becomes the monologue another person hears. The questions at the center of this festival — the difference between making visible and standing beside, the space that naming both opens and closes — arrive here on a personal and concrete scale: to whom does a story belong once it detaches from its origin?
