Proud Haram Festival is a queer interdisciplinary art festival that provides a stage for LGBTQIA+ and migrant artists. Hosted at Ballhaus Prinzenallee from 11th -14th of June , it will feature theatre, performance, dance, music, and installations. Expanding from its previous focus on Turkish-German queer artists, the 2025 edition seeks to include voices from MENA and its diasporas, with a specific focus on migrant queer struggles.This festival stands against censorship, discrimination, and political oppression of queer art. As spaces for queer artists shrink in various regions due to escalating restrictions and conflicts, we come together in Berlin to resist and create. We aim to foster an environment where queer art does not just survive but thrives, embracing diverse perspectives, including those advocating for justice and coexistence in challenging circumstances.Festival Director: The 2025 edition of the Haram Proud Festival is led by Ufuk Tan Altunkaya, a theatre maker and performance artist dedicated to exploring narratives of identity, migration, and belonging. With a strong background in contemporary performance and intercultural artistic practices, Ufuk is committed to providing a space where queer migrant voices can be heard and celebrated.

Das Proud Haram Festival ist ein interdisziplinäres Queer-Kunstfestival, das LGBTQIA+ und migrantischen Künstlerinnen eine Bühne bietet. Es findet vom 11 - 14. Juni im Ballhaus Prinzenallee statt und präsentiert Theater, Performance, Tanz, Musik und Installationen. Während frühere Editionen vor allem türkisch-deutsche queere Künstlerinnen umfassten, wird 2025 der Fokus auf MENA und seine Diasporas mit einem besonderen Schwerpunkt auf migrantische queere Kämpfe erweitert.Dieses Festival setzt sich gegen Zensur, Diskriminierung und politische Unterdrückung queerer Kunst ein. Während Räume für queere Künstler*innen in verschiedenen Regionen durch zunehmende Restriktionen und Konflikte immer kleiner werden, wollen wir in Berlin gemeinsam Widerstand leisten und Kunst schaffen.
